Recipe: Game Day Grilled Chipotle Chicken Wings
Stop Me Now If You Know Someone that Is Not Chicken Wing Fan
These sweet and tangy grilled chicken wings are perfect for an afternoon appetizer on game day. Savory with a hint of spice, they’re easily a crowd favorite! Chicken wings are actually simple to grill up and quick to cook through. We doubled down on the flavor for these game day chipotle wings: Both Butcher BBQ’s Sweet Chipotle Rub and Homestyle BBQ Sauce are used in this recipe. The rub seasons the meat nicely before the wings hit the heat. Then, the flavors and aroma in the sweet flavored BBQ sauce are released when it’s tossed with the wings.
These wings can even be prepared ahead of time so you’re ready to grill during halftime. Just put them in the refrigerator after seasoning them with the chipotle rub. Once it’s time to grill, bring them to room temperature, then throw them on the hot grates and let them cook. Chicken wings don’t have to be constantly monitored — Grill each side for about 5-7 minutes and you should be good to go. Just make sure the internal temperature of the chicken reads 165 degrees or more to make sure they’re cooked through. You’ll need extra napkins for these chipotle chicken wings slathered in sauce!
